The Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) is poised to launch its own T20 league in the 2025-26 season, joining a growing number of state associations embracing the format.
Anil Patel, Secretary of the Gujarat Cricket Association, has confirmed the decision. However, the GCA is still working to identify an appropriate window in the cricket calendar for the tournament. Key details such as the number of participating teams are yet to be finalized.
These domestic T20 leagues have become vital scouting grounds for IPL franchises. Leagues in Delhi, Mumbai, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Andhra, and Saurashtra provide a platform for local cricketers to showcase their talent and potentially advance their careers. Many of these leagues are typically held in June and July, following the conclusion of the IPL season in May.
