Salman Khan's hairstyle in the 2003 blockbuster film 'Tere Naam' became a national sensation. The long, middle-parted hair was widely copied by fans across India. However, the actor recently revealed that the inspiration behind the look came from a surprising source: former Indian President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
Khan shared this revelation during his appearance on 'The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show Season 3'. He told host Kapil Sharma that his 'Tere Naam' hairstyle was inspired by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. He also mentioned that actor Rahul Roy sported a similar hairstyle in one of his films. Salman felt that the long hair suited the image of a small-town hero, drawing inspiration from older, established actors who also wore their hair long.
Salman Khan's admiration for Dr. Kalam extended beyond just hairstyles. Following Dr. Kalam's death in 2015, Salman shared a series of heartfelt tributes on social media.
He tweeted, "I will miss Kalam saab. India will miss him."
Salman also recognized Dr. Kalam as a role model, tweeting, "Kalam saab was an amazing teacher and in his last tweet he said he is on his way to IIM... as scientist and as President, Kalam saab was a true inspiration for many generations of Indians."
In another emotional tweet, Salman lamented never having met Dr. Kalam, stating, "When your heart says you should meet someone, don't delay. I always wanted to meet Kalam saab and I should have made the effort. My loss."
Salman Khan's decision to style his hair after Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam appears to be a tribute to a man he greatly respected. What was once considered a trendy hairstyle is now revealed to be rooted in genuine admiration.
